The John Deere 4310 is a compact utility tractor from the 4000 TEN series, the hydrostatic sibling of the 4300. Deere's operator manual specifications page lists the 4310 engine model number explicitly as the 3TNE84.

WHAT WE FIT TO YOUR MACHINE.
On a compact tractor the engine bolts to the transmission housing and drives the PTO. The bellhousing, flywheel, PTO drive, oil pan and front pulley all have to match your tractor - these are external components and they carry over from the engine you are removing.
