The Vermeer SC352 is a self-propelled stump grinder used by tree care and landscaping contractors. It is powered by the Yanmar 88 mm-bore 3-cylinder direct-injection diesel. Stump grinders run at sustained full rpm under heavy cutting load, making engine specification critical.
ENGINE SPECIFICATION. Three cylinder, four cycle, liquid cooled, vertical in-line. Direct injection, naturally aspirated. Bore and stroke 88 x 90 mm. Displacement 1.642 L (100.2 cu in). WHAT WE FIT TO YOUR MACHINE.
On a stump grinder the engine runs at full rpm under heavy cutting load. The drive coupling, pulleys, oil pan and cooling package are external and carry across from the engine you are pulling out. A correctly governed variable-speed engine matters here.
