The Mustang 2041 is a vertical-lift compact skid steer loader from Mustang Manufacturing (West Bend, Wisconsin, now part of Manitou), sharing its chassis and driveline with the Gehl 3840. The shared Gehl/Mustang factory engine parts manual 917329 lists engine code 3TNV88-BKMS for the 2026 and 2041 skid steers, confirming this as a genuine 3-CYLINDER application. This distinction matters: the larger Mustang 2044 and 2054 use the 4-CYLINDER 4TNV88 (47 hp at 3000 rpm, 133.6 cu in / 2.190 L) per Mustang's own factory specification sheets, and are frequently cross-listed with the 3TNV88 in error.
