The Dixie Chopper XCD66 is a commercial diesel zero-turn mower with a 66-inch deck, used by landscaping contractors and grounds crews. It is powered by the Yanmar 88 mm-bore 3-cylinder. Commercial mowers run at sustained full working rpm for long hours, so a correctly governed variable-speed engine is essential - a fixed-speed gen-drive (GGE) engine is not suitable.
ENGINE SPECIFICATION. Three cylinder, four cycle, liquid cooled, vertical in-line. Direct injection, naturally aspirated. Bore and stroke 88 x 90 mm. Displacement 1.642 L (100.2 cu in). Around 36 hp at 3000 rpm at full speed, less in machines governed lower. Dry weight approximately 341 lb (154 kg). Rotation counterclockwise viewed from the flywheel end. WHAT WE FIT TO YOUR MACHINE.
On a commercial mower the engine runs at full governed rpm for hours at a time, driving the deck and the hydrostatic transmission. Pulleys, brackets, oil pan and cooling package all have to match the machine - all external, all transferable from your old engine. This is also exactly the application where a fixed-speed generator engine will not do, and where the correct variabl
