The Hitachi ZX35U is a 3.5-ton class reduced tail-swing mini excavator - one of the highest-volume Zaxis minis in the United States. It uses the 3-cylinder Yanmar 88 mm-bore direct-injection diesel and shares its engine core with the ZX30U and the Deere-badged equivalents. Note that the later ZX30U-5N and ZX35U-5N use the electronically governed 3TNV88F with EGR, per Hitachi's factory spec sheets - a different engine.
